So your goal in life is to be the most passive aggressive driver in the PNW? You are looking in the right direction.

24 hour chem baths on each head and a short block. I’ve personally have done about 30 of those jobs on these.
All it takes is 1000 miles over due on an oil change once.
Also, it has the turning circle of a 2001 Ford Super Duty.
Super comfy doe.

I’m sorry but nothing has a worse turning circle than late 90's, early 2000's Nissans: holy shit they can’t turn. Also 2000ish Camaro: my god!
Also on the Toyota sludge: AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. I take great pleasure when “super reliable” Japanese cars have major problems. So satisfying.

What Lexus can be had for cheap and run the longest? I’m thinking GS/IS300 but that RX300 is calling for me.

GS300 would be my bet. My sister has driven 470k miles worth of them. She totaled the first with 305k miles on it. If you can find a GS400 that would be really nice.

Forgot to say, the RX300 is a great choice too. It depends if you want straight 6 in a sedan or V6 in SUV.

2nd gen GS is best GS. I love the 3rd though. The ultimate GS in your budget would be the GS430 though. 3UZ goodness.

To be fair, it made it to around 180k miles, but it was just too much of a repair to be worth it. Even at that mileage, the interior still looked and felt new.

Too poor for a 430. Might just settle for a 300.

I don’t even know if I would call the 300 settling. One thing i would look for is I think the early 2000s got a 6-speed auto rather then the 5-speed and it really helps with gas mileage. That’s my sisters biggest complaint.

Good lord. My wife’s ‘09 RX350 AND my ‘98 LS400 are $170 a month. With a Focus ST added it’s only $250(which Is still expensive and I need to look into USAA further)

I also have a spotless driving record and have been insured for almost three years, and a co-driver for a year before that. $180/month was what I was paying back in 2014, and it was finally going to drop to $93/month next month. I even had to be a bit conservative with my yearly mileage to get it to $180/month.
